Are the Bali swings in Ubud safe or scary?
Yes, the swings are very safe and you’re in good hands with the guys that work there. The Bali swing accident and deaths are common topics amongst some travellers.
There has been a death at the swings and this seems to be a common question among tourists about the safety of the swings. There was a French tourist that died in this activity. But this not represents safety here.
If you’ve been on other tours in Ubud or Bali, you may expect them to be a little rough around the edges. But this activity is well maintained.
so to answer your question: Are the swings in Bali safe and are you secured in? Take it from me they are completely safe and you are well looked after.
How far is the swing from Ubud?
The Bali swing park is 4km from the centre of Ubud. This is why I recommend hiring a scooter or using a transportation service. Check out the Bali swing on Google map here;
The Park Dress rental
A lot of the women turn up in very fashionable dresses for that perfect photo, with the surreal jungle backdrop. However, don’t worry if you haven’t got one with you, there’s a dress rental available on site!
You can rent a dress for a couple of dollars whilst you enjoy the swings, then you just have to give it back when you’re finished!
You need a Southeast Asia packing list to see what items you need for places like Bali.

Best time to go to the Bali nest and swing?
The best time to visit the Jungle swing in Bali is in the morning between (10am-11: 45 am). You should arrive at the swing before it opens. This way you will have to the best time and a free roam on all the swings before the tourists get there. As the day goes at the Bongkasa Jungle swing, more and more tourists pour in to get part of the action. so for the question when is the best time to visit? This is why I say get there for the morning.
For example, 2 pm in the day is just unbearable! the ques for the swings are crazy. You can be waiting 30 minutes just to get on one of the swings. Get up early, have a Luwak coffee and check out the rice paddies at sunrise.
How to get to there?
Here is how to get to the Bali swing from Ubud;
- Free transport provided by the swings company –There is a free bus to the Ubud swing from the centre of Ubud.
- Scooter rental in Ubud – We used the scooter and personally I think this is the best way of getting around Ubud if you are comfortable at driving scooters. You can rent a scooter for $5 a day. And fill it with a full tank of gas for $2. There is also free parking at the Tegalalang swing.
- Taxi – You can, of course, take a taxi to the Ubud swing and back, however, this will most likely be the most expensive option.
- Walk it through Ubud town centre – You could walk it if you wanted, but it would take you around 2 hours. This would be a great way to see the best things in Ubud up close and personal.
The Address: Jl. Dewi Saraswati No.7, Bongkasa Pertiwi, Abiansemal, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80352, Indonesia
Phone Number: +62 878-8828-8832
If you have a scooter, then I highly recommend visiting the Tanah Lot which is an awesome seaside temple in Bali.
The Bali swing opening times
The swing opens at (8 am) here is the actual opening and closing time;
- Monday: 8am – 5pm
- Tuesday: 8am – 5pm
- Wednesday: 8am – 5pm
- Thursday: 8am – 5pm
- Friday: 8am – 5pm
- Saturday: 8am – 5pm
- Sunday: 8am – 5pm
We were the first ones there and had a choice to go on all the best swings first, so I would recommend getting there early as possible for the Ubud swing opening time.
How to book the Bali swing and Bali nest?
There’s plenty of travel agents in Ubud and around who sell the Bongkasa swing tickets.
The best way to book the swing package is online. It’s easier and you know you will have your ticket ready so you can avoid the ques.
Book online – You can pay for the swing Bali by booking online and they will collect you from your accommodation in Ubud. This will include pick up in the morning to get to the Ubud swing for opening time and then take you back to your hotel or hostel in Ubud. Bali Swing Review and Instagram Photography
You will get some great photo opportunities and the adrenaline rush is crazy. This is without a doubt one of the best tours in Ubud. You get to see one of the top swing parks, a coffee plantation, monkey forest, and all at an affordable ticket price.
This is some of the best photography of the swings, palm trees and Ayung rivers that we took;
The swing is an amazing jungle setting and this is why it’s one of the most popular things to do in Bali on your visit. The green forestry is stunning and it’s a surreal feeling to be swinging up to the top of the trees.
Interested in travel photography? You should check out the Panasonic Lumix FZ82 review post. Which is my awesome travel camera!
Another awesome place to visit near the swing is the amazing Bali monkey forest. A sacred forest in Ubud that you can meet and feed free-roaming Balinese monkeys!
All these rocks and nests at the Bali swing get very crowded as the day goes on, these pics are awesome but you will have to queue for a quick picture if you visit the swings later in the day!
On the image above, you can see the restaurant at the bottom of the Bali swing adventure park. This is where you have to walk down to grab your buffet lunch.
The guys that work there are very helpful when taking pics, they do have professional photographers taking photos that you can buy. However, if you want a picture on your phone, you can just ask them to take a quick snap and they’re more than happy to that for you.
It’s a very romantic scene and if you’re on a honeymoon to Bali, then you need to come here to get some romantic photos that you can take back home with you.
One of the places best in Bali for Instagram and chilling out is the Jungle Fish Ubud infinity pool. This is also one of the best places to stay in Ubud if you’re on a luxury holiday.

The Tegalalang Rice Terrace Swing Price: (150.000 IDR per person)
What time does the Tegalalang Rice Terrace Swing open?
The Tegalalang opens daily from 08:00 to 19:00. This swing does have a harness, so it may not be the best swing in Bali for your Instagram photo.
6. Uma Pakel Swing
This is a less popular tourist spot in Bali. The Uma Pakel Swing is located in the village of Tegalalang, Ubud, Bali.
After your swing finishes at the Uma Pakel, you should take the opportunity to take some sweet Instagram photos of Tegallang Rice Terraces. This would be perfect for some drone photography.
