Are the swings safe?

The Bali swing accident and deaths are common topics amongst some travellers.

There has been a death at the swings and this seems to be a common question among tourists about the safety of the swings. There was a French tourist that died on this activity. But this not represent the safety here.

Take it from me that the swings are very safe and you’re in good hands with the guys that work there. If you’ve been on other tours in Ubud or Bali, you may expect them to be a little rough around the edges. But this activity is well maintained.

so to answer your question: Are the swings in Bali safe and are you secured in? Take it from me they are completely safe and you are well looked after.

Best time to go?

The best time to visit the Jungle swing in Bali is in the morning between (10am-11: 45 am). You should arrive at the swing before it opens. This way you will have to the best time and a free roam on all the swings before the tourists get there.

As the day goes at the Bongkasa Jungle swing, more and more tourists pour in to get part of the action. so for the question when is the best time to visit? This is why I say get there for the morning.

For example, 2 pm in the day is just unbearable! the ques for the swings are crazy. You can be waiting 30 minutes just to get on one of the swings.

How to get to there?

Here is how to get to the Bali swing from Ubud;

  1. Free transport provided by the swings company There is a free bus to the Ubud swing from the centre of Ubud.
  2. Scooter rental in Ubud – We used the scooter and personally I think this is the best way of getting around Ubud if you are comfortable at driving scooters. You can rent a scooter for $5 a day. And fill it with a full tank of gas for $2. There is also free parking at the Tegalalang swing.
  3. Taxi – You can, of course, take a taxi to the Ubud swing and back, however, this will most likely be the most expensive option.
  4. Walk it through Ubud town centre – You could walk it if you wanted, but it would take you around 2 hours. This would be a great way to see the best things in Ubud up close and personal.

The Google map below is the exact location;

The Address: Jl. Dewi Saraswati No.7, Bongkasa Pertiwi, Abiansemal, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80352, Indonesia

We were the first ones there and had a choice to go on all the best swings first, so I would recommend getting there early as possible for the Ubud swing opening time.

It started getting crowded at 1 pm as the day went on and this caused waiting time for the swings. If you get there as soon as it opens you should have a good 30-minute to enjoy whichever swing you want on the swings. check out the Ubud swing in Bali opening times

The 6 other best swings in Bali

There are lots of swings in Bali to try out. Everyone has an amazing setting and is a mega experience.

Here is a list of all the best swing in Bali;

1. The Ubud swing at Zen Hideaway

This is another great swing other than the original one in Ubud.  This one is cheaper than the main swing in Bali. To use this swing you will have to stay at one of the three Zen Hideaway accommodation rooms.

The Zen hideaway rooms get booked early in advance, so make sure you get booked in early as possible to avoid disappointment. Also Staying at the Zen hideaway would be a cool experience.

If you enjoy these epic activities you should check out the swing in water.

2. Kaja Swing

LeKaja Swing is located in the village of Carang Sari, around 8 kilometres north of Bali’s famous centre of arts and craft.

The company who own this swing also provide an exciting day out doing white-water rafting and FlyingFox in Ubud. I did the white-water rafting, it’s epic.

This epic tourist place is located in the highlands of Wanagiri and Munduk village, Sukasada district, Buleleng regency.

We had an amazing day on the swings in Ubud in it’s one of the best things to do in Ubud. We would probably say that is the best activity to do in Ubud and you will have the most fun of these super cool swings.

You get to play on adult-sized swings, relax in a super-cool location, dine on a free tasty buffet and take photos you can save forever. Furthermore, the price of the swings maybe a little high, but I promise you it’s worth every penny. After you fun-packed day you can head back into Ubud for some cheap tasty food.
