Where is the Ubud fire dance performance?
If you’ve read any of my other posts, you will know my favourite way to get around Ubud, is by scooter. So, I recommend you rent a scooter for $3/4 (per day) and make your own way to the Ubud fire dance.
The fire dance actually takes places at the amazing Junjungan village temple (Jalan Tirta Tawar). You will have to travel roughly 4/5 kilometres from Jalan Raya Ubud to the Junjungan village temple.
Don’t like driving scooters? You can pay for a taxi to take you to the fire dance performance. This may cost you $5 upwards, just remember to barter on the price.
Also, you can hire a car for the day or maybe tie this in with a paid tour in Ubud.

What to expect?
You will be taken on a Balinese journey through the performance of fire dancing and amazing acting skills from the locals of Bali. This awesome spectacle started around the 1930s and still to this day the show goes on.
Throughout the fire dance you will get to see crazy fire-breathing skills as the flame from the torches lights up the night sky.
You will get to see a somewhat musical, but not the typical musical you maybe used to. This one is created by the guys singing their hearts out as they crowd around the lit statues. There is no use of instruments or help from loud speakers, the vocals is the only thing you can hear. It’s amazing.
The men are dressed in a brightly coloured sarong which is a tribute to the Balinese culture and it all adds to the amazing effect of this fire performance in Ubud, Bali.
