Tibumana waterfall is a 3-step, man-made waterfalls located in the mountains around Ubud, Bali. It is created on the river Branca by a dam and falls from a height of about 3 meters. There are several streams crisscrossing like fingers in its lily pond which can be reached by walking through the woods. The Tirta Empul temple overlooking it has a spring from where holy water or Dewa Suka is dispensing on this pond through a small tube in the ground, getting refreshed and coming out again. To get to Tibumana in Bali, you can either take public transportation or a tour. The problem with taking public transportation is that it will just show you how far away the waterfall is (which you can see for yourself!). It would be better if we told you about some cool things to do on the way and how to plan your time. From Ubud or Gianyar, you will take the main road Denpasar to Singaraja. From Singaraja, just follow the road direction Baturiti until you get to Ubud. When you leave Ubud, remember to go towards Tampaksiring and not Buah-bungkah direction (a lot of people make this mistake!).

First of all, the answer is that you can walk to the waterfall and back but I don’t recommend it. For safety reasons, it is better and easier to do it with a guide since there are some areas along the way that require climbing. Secondly, when we refer to guided tour we mean a private vehicle with driver for rent and NOT a classic tourist bus.
