Best Waterfalls in Bali

Bali is one of Southeast Asia’s most popular tourist destinations, and for a good reason. The island is home to a diverse range of landscapes, from the tropical beaches of Kuta and Uluwatu to the volcanic mountains of Mount Agung and Mount Batur.

With all of this natural beauty, it’s easy to forget that Bali also has incredible waterfalls. And if you’re visiting Bali, you should definitely try to see them.

Here are 10 impressive waterfalls that you should visit while you’re here:

I’ve always wanted to visit Tegenungan Waterfall, but when I finally did, I was blown away by the beauty of the place.

It’s a natural swimming pool with a stunning view of Bali’s hidden gem. The blooming trees in their green surroundings complete their beauty.

Especially during morning hours, sunlight shines through to reflect off the nearby surface. This place is worth visiting because it’s one of the best waterfalls in Bali, and you can swim in its natural pools.

You can enjoy this place by hiking up to the top of the waterfall and swimming in the natural pools at its base or by taking a dip in one of the pools accessible from ground level.

Just be careful during the rainy season because it tends to be slippery.

The waterfall itself is pretty stunning. You can walk right up to it without any problem.

But what sets it apart is its location. The Indonesian government, inside a lush tropical forest, preserves the waterfall.

Goa Rang Reng Waterfall

Location: Jl. Goa Jl. Rang Reng, Bakbakan, Gianyar, Gianyar Regency, Bali 80515, Indonesia

Entrance Cost: $0.96/person

Goa Rang Reng Waterfall is a hidden gem in the hills of Bali. The waterfall is between gorgeous rice terraces, about 4 kilometres from the village centre.

A leisurely 10-minute walk from the parking area to the falls, you can bathe in the pool of cool water at the waterfall’s base.

Because the rocks along the rope leading to the top of this waterfall are extremely slippery, reef shoes are recommended.

This place seems less touristy than some of the others and offers great places to explore.

The waterfall is beautiful and picturesque: surrounded by lush tropical plants and trees, it looks like something out of a movie set.

You can swim here or take some photos from the viewing deck at the top of the falls, which are also incredible.

Blahmantung Waterfall

Blahmantung Waterfall

Location: PX2X+6H3, Pujungan, Pupuan, Tabanan Regency, Bali 82163, Indonesia

Entrance Cost: $1.92 – $3.20/person

The Blahmantung waterfall is a remote, magical place. It’s an hour’s drive from Denpasar if you go straight down the main road, but it’s worth it for the journey there.

The drive itself is beautiful. The road winds through rice fields and fruit orchards before it ends at a small parking lot in front of some jungle.

To get to the waterfall, you must walk about 800 meters on a trail that winds through the trees and around some hillsides.

It’s tranquil, and there are almost no visitors except other hikers and me. We saw monkeys in trees above us and heard birds chirping everywhere we went. The waterfalls were beautiful too.

You should be aware that this place does not have lights, so you’ll need to plan your trip accordingly.

You’ll want to come early or late in the afternoon to see it glow at night and wear comfortable shoes because there isn’t any pavement on the road leading up to it.

Entrance Cost: $3.20/person

There’s something about being in nature that makes you feel like you’re at peace with the world.

When I first visited Bali and saw Leke Leke Waterfall, I felt like I had finally found my happy place.

The Leke Leke Waterfall is a popular tourist destination in the Tabanan Regency. The waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery.

This attraction is a 1.5-hour drive north of Canggu, Seminyak, and Kuta, so it’s an easy day trip from those places.

You can take a bus or taxi there and back, or rent a car or motorbike if you have time to explore other areas.

Although it is located in a canyon and not easily accessible, the waterfall provides an excellent opportunity for photographers to capture fantastic images.

The sound of water falling into pools below is soothing and enchanting all at once, which makes this spot ideal for anyone wanting to relax and unwind.

Sambangan Waterfalls

Sambangan Waterfalls

Location: Jl. Raya Desa Sambangan, Sambangan, Kec. Sukasada, Kabupaten Buleleng, Bali 81161, Indonesia

Entrance Cost: $1.28/person

Sambangan is a secret garden in Northern Bali. The place where you can get away from the crowds and enjoy nature.

It’s not even on the major tourist routes, but it’s worth finding.

The trail starts with an incredible waterfall called Sambangan Secret Garden Waterfall. Then you’ll see rice fields, coffee plantations, and all kinds of Balinese beauty nature offers.

You’ll also walk across at least 4 stunning waterfalls and an incredible blue lagoon in this area.

There are plenty of chances to get away from the heat by soaking in one or more of the numerous pools.

In some areas, natural slides allow you to glide into the refreshing, calm waters below.

It’s one of the top hiking trails in Bali and one of the most well-balanced hiking trails I’ve ever seen.

Gembleng Waterfall

Gembleng Waterfall

Location: Tri Eka Buana, Sidemen, Karangasem Regency, Bali 80864, Indonesia

Entrance Cost: $0.96/person

It’s hard to believe such a beautiful place exists in Bali, but it does.

If you’re looking for a quick escape from the crowds and tourist traps that are so prevalent in Bali, I recommend a trip to Gembleng Waterfall. It’s located near Sidemen, not far from Ubud.

It’s a short but steep climb up to the waterfall, surrounded by lush greenery and trees. Several tiny plunge pools are perfect for relaxing in or taking a dip.

I thought I knew Bali like the back of my hand, but then I met Gembleng Waterfall, which changed everything.

If you’re looking to add romance to your vacation, there’s no better place than the cliff-top infinity pool here.

The pool is big enough for 2 people, so it’s a great place for couples. In addition, there’s an accessible trail leading to a couple of other tiny pools and some great views of the main waterfall.

You can take advantage of its natural beauty by paying $0.96. That way, everyone can enjoy this hidden gem without feeling like they’re intruding on someone else’s private sanctuary.

Kanto Lampo Waterfall

Kanto Lampo Waterfall

Location: Jl. Kaliasem lingk.kelod kangin, Beng, Kec. Gianyar, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80513, Indonesia

Entrance Cost: $0.64/person

If you want to see one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Bali, Kanto Lampo is the place to go.

Located deep within the jungles of Ubud, it’s well worth the effort to get there. But don’t worry. There are tons of ways to do it on a budget.

You can rent bicycles or scooters for around $4 and buy drinks and snacks at the parking lot for your picnic. The best part of this waterfall is that you don’t have to hike all day. Some paths lead down from where you park your bike or scooter, so all you have to do is enjoy the view.

I don’t know about you, but I love a good deal. And the Kanto Lampo Waterfall in Bali is one of the best deals I’ve ever found.

The entry cost is only $0.64, so you won’t be spending too much on this trip. The waterfall is hidden in the jungle, so bring some bug repellent if you’re afraid of mosquitos or other bugs.

You can also bring snacks and food because there’s a restaurant at the entrance. You can even buy souvenirs here.

As you can see, some steep rocks are on top of the waterfall, where you can sit down and take in all of its beauty before climbing back down again.

Be sure to climb up the rocks at the top of the waterfall so you can take great photos.
