What is the beautiful Seganing falls?

Hello there guys! Today we will be discussing one of the best locations that you may visit in 2020 and it is located in Nusa Penida, Indonesia. It’s a beautiful natural waterfall in Nusa Penida and it is considered to be one of the best places in the world that you can visit. For those of you who don’t know this yet, it’s best to keep in mind that it has a nickname that is famously known by the local people there and its nickname is Sebuluh Waterfall. It’s highly recommended for you to know this because just in case you got lost and don’t know which way to go, you could ask for some help from the local people there and if you don’t use the correct nickname of the place that you want to go to, then even the locals won’t be able to help you.

This means that you have to locate this place on your own and that is the reason why it’s highly recommended for you to equip yourself with some information about the waterfall before you visit it. The thing that makes this Nusa Penida activity so attractive is that it has an extremely natural atmosphere with the water from the river that is flowing straight to the sea as well as some brownish-yellow rocks. It felt like being in a dream world and the smell of the fresh air near the waterfall is just so refreshing. It is indeed a good place to forget all your problems in life.

A Quick bit of History

The waterfall used to be the place where people would come to have their daily water supply. It used to be the main source of water for the people that are living somewhere near there. However, currently, people would use the Seganing Waterfall as a fishing spot as well as the place for recreational activities such as camping and swimming. Apart from that, the local people there also would come to this Waterfall to take some water for their particular religious ceremony.

The location of the Seganing Waterfall

Seganing Waterfall is located in Banjar Sebuluh which is located somewhere near the Bunga Mekar Village in the Nusa Penida District. This beautiful tourist place can be found somewhere in the west part of the Nusa Penida Island which can be found right below the cliff that is facing the open sea. There is a lot of people who would not expect to have such an amazing waterfall somewhere here as Banjar Sebuluh is known by many to be a dry area.

If you’re traveling on a scooter, you need to visit Kelingking Beach which is one of the best beaches in Bali!

How to get to Seganing Waterfall?

Be warned that the path that you are about to face through is going to be a tough one. The path can be considered to be quite extreme and challenging as the slope is close to 90 degrees however you will soon realize that it’s all going to be worth it as the gorgeous views of the ocean await your arrival down there. Starting from the asphalt road, you should consider leaving your vehicle behind and walk down through the cliff for approximately 300 meters.

There will be a cliff that has some wooden fence and stairs which was made by the local people there and you’re going to have to walk through there. On top of that, you will also have to crawl in near the side of the cliff while the sea waves that hit the cliff cause a shake that will make you feel like you want to fall on the ground. You will have to go through this field for about half an hour. The woods near the cliff will be strong enough to support you however you will still need to walk with caution when you are going down the cliff as it is very steep.

When you finally reach the top of the cliff, you will also be able to see the Gunung Cemeng Temple near the north part of the cliff. An ideal time to visit this place is during the dry season. This is because, during a rainy season, the path which leads to the falls will be much more slippery which increases the risk of slipping through the cliff so that is the reason why it is highly recommended for you to visit the Seganing Waterfall during a dry season.

You will have the chance to do some nature exploration but of course, for the sake of your safety, it’s highly recommended that you have local people traveling together with you which can guide you through the path which leads to the waterfall. The things that you will need are excellent stamina as well as suitable footwear for some waterfall adventure.
