This is a lush island that is located in the most northern position of the Phi Phi islands. There is a popular tour from Phuket to Monkey Island and Bamboo island, however, you will usually find this beach is fairly quiet. I enjoyed getting away from the crowds and you will too. It’s an awesome island that is fringed by gorgeous palm trees, tropical water and pearl white sand. Also, the Bamboo island snorkelling opportunity is amazing, which you will experience if you visit the Hin Klang reef near the island. Snorkelling on Bamboo island
I know you will enjoy the Hin Klang snorkelling tour in Phi Phi if you’re into snorkelling. This is one of my favourite activities and the Bamboo island snorkelling tour did not disappoint.
You can explore the reef near the Bamboo island beach and the marine life that surrounds it. Don’t worry about not having any snorkelling gear with you. Your Hin Klang tour operators will provide all the equipment you need.

There is plenty of tour operators hanging around the Phi Phi island and don’t worry they will ask you before you ask them. If it’s your first time in Thailand, expect to be slightly hassled. It’s all fair though 🙂
Your tour will last at least 8 hours and you will get to see some amazing islands, as well as Maya Bay beach. But Maya Bay is closed indefinitely so you will have to stay on the boat.

- Pick up from your accommodation in Krabi
- Then you departure from Ao Nang or Railay beach
- Bamboo island snorkelling + swimming
- You may get to visit Maya Bay and Viking Cave
Remember to take wet shoes with you or flipflops. Also, take comfortable clothing and a towel.

Bamboo island Camping
You should check out the Bamboo island camping experience if you get the chance. The best way to do this is with part of a tour. I would book a tour and then stay overnight on Bamboo island. You will get to see all the awesome island off the coast of Krabi and then head to the island around 5pm to stay overnight.
Things to do on Bamboo island whilst camping?
You will be able to do the amazing snorkelling and swimming as the sunsets. The sunsets in Thailand are amazing and if you haven’t seen one yet, you’re in for a treat!
You will definitely be able to get a new Instagram photo of the Bamboo island sunset!
Then, the locals on the island will prepare your food such as; chicken, prawns typical Thai food and treats. However, don’t expect a 5* food menu, but the food is good and there is plenty to keep you full till you leave in the morning.
You may be able to see Phra Nang and Phang Nga Bay.
Then in the morning you can see the wildlife and watch the stunning Bamboo island sunset, amazing.
