The wonderful land of America…
This post is dedicated to holidaying in America.
When I was 9-year-old, my Nan and granddad took me on my first holiday to America. We stayed at the globe famous Disney world at a hotel called Caribbean beach.
When we arrived for our first ever holiday I was gob smacked literally gob smacked at 9-year-old. The hotel itself would have been enough for a holiday with its exotic scenery, funky pools and entertainment. The first night we had to go out so we jumped on the hotel Disney bus to the Magic Kingdom, this place is crazy and is like something you would expect from a Disney film and we all know how cool the iconic white castle looks.
The rest of the holiday as you can imagine was a young kids dream.
Since that first holiday I have been lucky enough to go to Disney World probably another 6 times (lucky I know). Every time it never ceases to amaze me, the crazy theme parks, the hot Floridian sunshine, the loud, funny but polite Americans and just the over all wow factor.
We always went with Virgin and you get a sweet deal of free food and drinks when you book with them so that was always good. The food in the states is as you can imagine BIG and TASTY and I would always come back heavier than when I left, but it is worth it.
The Water Parks
The water parks on Disney are on another level, the features are endless;
- Big slides, medium slides, small slides and family slides they have it all
- Lazy rivers with hundreds of floating doughnuts to sit in and float through the day relaxing in the sun
- Snorkelling area at Typhoon Lagoon, you can snorkelling with sharks and fish and yes its safe for the family!
- Tasty food shacks with some of the best ice cream sundaes you’ll ever encounter to cool you down in that hot weather
- The wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon (one of my favourites, epic!!!)
- Chill out areas with 1000’s of sun loungers to catch the rays
- Water obstacle courses
I could go on all night.
It is safe to say if you want some fun in the sun, get too one of the water parks!
This is one of my personal favourite parks in America.
Animal Kingdom has a mega range of animals from flamingos to Lions. It really is a cool place and has lots to see for all ages in the family.
The park has areas for example one area is Africa and this has all the animals you would expect to see from there. Also one of the best bots of the park is the African safari (Actually makes you feel like you’re in Africa on a tour). The ride starts with open seated single mini busses picking passengers up. Then you are took on a tour around a few miles acre to find some of the free roaming ended. Being an African safari obviously you get the chance to see some BIG lions on pride rock.
The park has all different ranges of food but beware, if you’re sitting outside you can expect some wild birds to sit almost on your shoulder waiting for you to drop a chip.
When I was younger I messed around school, that attitude followed me for a few years after I left school (I,ll get more in to this in the future). One of the last times I went to America something clicked inside of me, I decided I am gong to get my life on track. I started running that holiday and that give me a focus and helped a lot, running is also another life changer.
From that holiday I am now where I am today. Now I am working, studying and training hard, so yeah America was life changing for me.
My family still go every year and they are about to go again in 2 weeks time, yes I am gutted I am not going but I have new places to try to I have to save for the travelling.
One day I will go back to Disney and let the memories unfold.
Hope your lucky enough to try this-worldly place!
