Experience the Ultimate Beach Life at Potato Head Beach Club

I love travelling and I’ve been to many beautiful places, but my recent trip to Bali was really special. One of the highlights of my trip was going to Potato Head Beach Club. It’s a really famous place in Bali that you don’t want to miss.

The beach club is designed by an Indonesian architect called Andra Matin, and it looks really amazing. The building has a circular shape and is made from old teak window shutters that were collected from all over Indonesia.

At Potato Head Beach Club, there are lots of things to do, no matter what you like. You can swim in the infinity pool, relax on the big lawn, or have a drink at one of the two bars.

This place is one of the best things to do in Seminyak and it’s definitely worth a visit.

My Experience at Potato Beach Club

My Experience at Potato Beach Club

Stepping into Potato Beach Club, I was instantly struck by its beauty. The brushed concrete and reclaimed wood amphitheater were like nothing I had seen before, and the lively atmosphere was invigorating.

I settled into a daybed by the infinity pool and took in the mix of Jakarta hipsters, European backpackers, and regular Joes.

The cocktail menu offered an impressive variety of options, including Indo Eksotika, Indo Classics, and international drinks, as well as the refreshing Balinese craft beer, Stark.

I explored the restaurant options, from sustainable seafood at Ijen to a culinary tour of Indonesia at Kaum on the second floor, but ultimately chose to stay put and order internationally-influenced bar snacks, including wood-fired pizzas. The food was delicious, and the service was top-notch.

What truly set Potato Beach Club apart was its commitment to ethical and sustainable practices. As the first hospitality company in Indonesia to be declared climate neutral by the UN, Potato Head is a leader in the industry. The aesthetics were stunning, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

I highly recommend a visit to Potato Beach Club for a unique and unforgettable experience in Bali.

Potato Beach Club caters to everyone’s schedule with convenient opening hours.

It’s a casual and laid-back atmosphere that’s perfect for everyone, yet there’s an undeniable sophistication that makes it a cut above the rest. But what really sets the vibe at Potato Beach Club apart is the world-famous DJs who regularly spin chill-out tunes by day and dance-worthy tracks by night.

Even if you’re not a natural dancer, the lively energy here is contagious, and you’ll feel like part of something special whether you’re lounging poolside or grabbing a bite to eat.

Is there a security screening?

Yes, there is a security screening at the entrance to ensure the safety of all guests. You can expect a bag check, and the staff will prohibit single-use plastic bottles from entering the Desa. While this may seem inconvenient, it’s all part of the effort to create a more sustainable environment.

Don’t worry about parking your car or scooter; the staff is there to guide you to the designated areas in the parking garage.

Is there WiFi at the Desa?

Yes, free and unlimited WiFi is available everywhere inside the Desa.

How can I book a daybed?

How to Get There

Here are some ways to get to Potato Head Beach Club in Bali:

  • If you’re staying in the Kuta or Legian areas, it takes 15 to 20 minutes to drive to the beach club.
  • From Ngurah Rai International Airport, it takes approximately 30 minutes to drive to the beach club.
  • From Ubud, it can take up to an hour and a half to drive to the beach club, depending on traffic.

To get to Potato Head Beach Club from other parts of Bali:

  • Hire a private driver.
  • Take a taxi.
  • Use ride-hailing services like Gojek or Grab.

The easiest and most stress-free way to get there is by booking a private car through the hotel or villa where you’re staying

Another option is to rent a scooter or motorcycle, which is a popular mode of transportation on the island.

However, keep in mind that Bali’s traffic can be chaotic, and the roads can be narrow and congested, so riding a scooter may not be suitable for everyone.

If you prefer to take a taxi from the airport to the Desa, the standard rate is $32. However, I recommend booking a private car in advance as it saves you the hassle of bargaining and ensures a comfortable and stress-free ride to the beach club.

Cost and Options

Potato Head Beach Club offers a top-notch experience with prices slightly higher than the Bali average.

Despite the cost, the quality and experience make it worth it. Expect to pay around $8-10 for a cocktail, $1.40 for a young coconut, $2.20 for a beer, $10 for a lobster brioche, and $11 for a chicken, avo & harissa sandwich with fries.

Hitting the $36 minimum spend for a daybed with lunch and a couple of drinks is easy.

Renting a daybed starts with a tab with a credit/debit card, and you receive a wooden tag that you can show to any waiter or bartender.

It’s useful when using the swim-up bar, but avoid losing it in the pool.
