A sandy beach is only a short stroll away, as are eating and shopping options.

The Seminyak Beach Resort & Spa is directly on a sandy beach; the famous Ku De Ta beach club is just down the beach, and Potato Head is a 15-minute walk in the opposite direction. Hundreds of restaurants and shops can be found along Kalan Kayu Aya and in the Seminyak Square mall, all of which are about a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Pura Petitenget, a well-known Hindu temple, is just a five-minute walk away, and Bali TrickArt 3D Gallery is just a 10-minute drive away. Echo Beach, a popular surfing spot, is 30 minutes away by car, and Ngurah Rai International Airport is about 25 minutes away.

The amazing rooms to stay

Elegant rooms and villas with hardwood floors, balconies, and upscale bathrooms

The Seminyak has 105 rooms, ranging from comfortable Garden Rooms to lavish two-bedroom Villas with private pools and indoor/outdoor lounges. The Garden Wing across the street from the main building houses the hotel’s 30 Garden Rooms (which are the standard units here), while the Beach Wing houses 38 standard rooms, 26 Ocean Side Suites with living areas and jetted tubs, and 11 one- and two-bedroom Garden Villas with private pools and outdoor lounges. There are also seven one-bedroom Ocean View Villas with private baths, open-air gazebos, and jetted tubs.

With a subdued earth tone theme, hardwood floors, and floor-to-ceiling windows that open into narrow furnished balconies with views of either the lush grounds or the beach, the units are trendy and contemporary. Balinese wood carvings, small Indonesian artworks, and the use of stone and wood throughout contribute to the local beauty, but the overall look is a little dull in comparison to other high-end properties in the region.

Air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, DVD players, safes, minibars, iPod docks, and electric kettles are standard in all rooms; coffeemakers are available in villas. The bathrooms are large and lavish, with deep soaking tubs, dual showers with rain showerheads, and a large selection of toiletries. Few toilets have glass walls that peer into the space, but there are filters that keep the light out. The Garden Wing of the hotel has several rooms that are next to the road which can pick up some traffic noise.

Conclusion

The Seminyak is a small luxury resort with convenient access to a sandy beach and restaurants, bars, and nightlife all within easy walking distance. The 105 luxurious rooms and private villas at the hotel feature local touches such as wood carvings and distressed hardwood floors, as well as facilities like free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, large soaking tubs, and iPod docks. Private pools and spacious living and dining areas with views of the garden are included in the villas. Two bars, a pool, a wellness centre, and regular events for all ages are available at the hotel. The oceanfront swimming pool, with breathtaking sea views and a dining room with bar service, is the highlight here. The Oberoi, which is nearby, is a good option for those looking for even more local beauty, though prices would be higher.

  1. Ah what a fantasy destination, I’ve looked at the Maldives a lot but always end up going elsewhere for some reason. I love their little bungalows on the pier, it’s so iconic! I feel if you’re going to the Maldives, you’ve kind of got to do it in style – so I want to make sure I have the budget for it! Lovely place.
