Both Cebu Pacific and AirPhilExpress have direct flights from Cebu to Boracay (Caticlan). The Philippine Airlines flight is actually the same as operated by AirPhils.

The only other way would be to take bus across Cebu to Toledo, a ferry to San Carlos, another bus to Bacolod, a ferry to Iloilo, and finally one last bus to Caticlan then on to Boracay.

This would take longer than a day though!
