Altrincham Market
If you want one of the best places to eat in manchester then you need to visit the Altrincham market!
This one’s certainly worth the drive out of the city centre and even if you don’t have a car there’s conveniently a metro link stop close by, making it ideal for a few alcoholic beverages on a sunny weekend. Market House forms the centrepiece containing specialist food outlets clustered around communal tables that seat 180 and with a small play area for the kiddies, it’s no wonder why Altrincham Market is so popular with families.
Outside, in the covered New Market, stallholders sell everything from fresh fish and locally produced cheese to vintage knick-knackery and furniture. There’s also plenty more tasty food stalls where you can relax with a hearty burger and listen to live music forming the Markets soundtrack.

Mackie Mayor Northern Quarter Restaurant
The sister restaurant to Altrincham Market, Mackie Mayor, is a Historic Grade 2 listed building which was a former meat Market in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. There are 6 independent kitchens, providing diners with freshly made pizza’s, hearty salads, the perfect poached eggs and much more, there’s something for all the family. Home to two cafes with a passion for coffee (I had to try it as I love my coffee in the UK from Coffee Gems Coffee Bean Subscription Box) and two bars serving world wines and British craft beers you’ll never go thirsty. Basically Mackie Mayor offers top-notch grub, served informally in a charming setting. What more could you ask for?! This is by far one of the best restaurants in Manchester Northern Quarter for you to check out.

Enjoy stunning views over Manchester sky scrapper skyline and enjoy the chic décor which takes inspiration from glam nature – make sure to get that insta pick in the flowery domes. The restaurant menus are Modern British and celebrate local Manchester produce, with suppliers sourced, where possible from no more than 50 miles from the city of Manchester. We love the courteous staff and the quick service at the bar, which can get busy at the weekends – as you can imagine.
This is certainly the number one place to be in Manchester at the moment. Also, it’s an affordable restaurant in manchester – although the drinks can be expensive!

Service is second to none – you’ll be welcomed by friendly faces and treated like royalty for the night. The only downside is the sheer number of dishes on the menu, you won’t know what to order – I suppose that gives us an excuse to go back again!
