Where ever you go in the world your adventurous side has always got to have try out the adventures on offer. It’s always a fun game of Russian roulette whether or not your going to get ripped off for your money by the locals (all part of the journey).

If you go anywhere like Thailand you will be flooded with offers for excursions by locals, bars, people on the street and probably staff at your hotel.

For the little island I am going to tell you of my personal things of what to do in Koh Samui.

These stunning waterfalls can be found setback in the jungle, they waterfalls are named Na Muang 1 and Na Muang 2. The waterfalls provide a different experience in comparison with all the beaches of Koh Samui. There is also a quirky cafe for some cheap great food and also expect little huts accompanied by locals selling unique gifts.

My hotel in Koh Samui highly recommended this as something to do in Koh Samui.

This is an iconic things to see in Koh Samui, a 12 metre tall gold Buddha. It can usually be seen from all over the island due to its position.

It is good to visit here as this Buddha means a lot to the locals and you can see why when you visit. You may actually see some real life Buddhas, cool people. Also, girls you need to cover up, this is for some relisgous reason the Thai locals follow. They usually provide sarongs for you to wear.

Cost | Day excursion for £2200 Baht, this includes a full day out, pick up/drop off at hotel and dinner.

Another sweet day out and one of the best things on the what to do in Koh Samui list.

You will be picked up around 8am with other excited adventure chases. Then, you will make your way to a small port, from there you will all get on a medium sized boat. Till you reach 75 metres out from an island which you jump into the water to make your way to the beach (don’t worry the water goes to your knees).

Cost | Day excursion for £1800 Baht, this includes visiting multiple locations, dinner and obviously a taste of the coconuts.

Visiting the coconut farms is a must on the what to do in Koh Samui best things to do.

4. Jet Ski in The Koh Samui sea

Cost | The cost of hire for the jet ski’s is roughly 2000 Baht for 30 mins.

Top Tip |  go near the end of the day, they will drop the price considerably and I even got extra time #winning

This was sweet, reminded my of my James Bond Days (joking), but a what to do in Koh Samui favourite.

The jet skis are super cool and they do pick up some serious speeds.

The jet ski’s can be hired all up and down the beaches, there’s usually cool indie guys there waiting to take you money, throw a life jacket on you and set you off. They do give you a quick demo of how to rev and rip.

They are so much fun for just hammering it up and down the sea.

3. Do Elephant Riding in Koh Samui

Cost | The cost for the day ranges from 1750 to 2500 baht. They do stretch the hours and make it a full day which is good. Dinner and drinks included which is always a plus.

Don’t really know many people that would turn down a ride on these precious animals.

The elephant riding was a crazy experience. A guide sits at the front of the elephant that provides for up to two extra people on the mini jungle trek. The overall elephant ride lasts for about 20 minutes. They usually provide a show and throw in dinner and a drink for your day there.

The elephants are so laid back and it is a surreal feeling to sit on one of these. Take a biscuit with you, the guide will try and sell you one to give to the elephant but be ahead of the game and take your own.

The excursion charges for pictures with the elephants but the guides once out trekking will take a picture of you for a cut price.

2. Koh Samui’s Jungle Trek

Cost | This day cost around 2000 Baht.

This is a truly amazing day, that is why it is on the list for things to do in Koh Samui

With most exclusions you do get picked up from your hostel/hotel which saves you some money on travel.

So there say begins by getting picked up by a mega jeep, like the ones of Jurassic park. There is about 10 of you in this jeep for the adventure.

After all passengers are picked up you will make your way to the jungle to let the fun commence.

You spend the morning on a brilliant jungle rally hammering up and down the mountains. The jeep has seats on top of the roof which is brilliant when your driving up to 80mph through the forest.

After the morning they take you to the top of a mountain overlooking Koh Samui for some dinner, mesmerising views!

The rest of the day is spent visiting waterfalls, temples and a coconut farm.

epic day!!

I couldn’t recommend any higher and it is value for money!

The fun you have makes it worth every penny and it also includes good buffet breakfast. I will definitely be doing this excursion again.

1. Snorkelling and Monkey Island Visit Koh Samui

Cost | This adventure costs between 2000 – 2500 Baht, worth every penny in my eyes. You will not experience many days like this in your life!

Like something off a film and this is why it is on the list of things to do in Koh Samui. Also, probably my favourite.

I can’t recommend this day any higher.

Being picked up and took to the beach to meet around a 100+ other tourists, you are then split into groups to fit on the medium sized boats.

If your lucky you can get a spot at the front of the boat in the sun, I’d push through the people for that because the views are worth it!

They drive for roughly 1 hour to take you to a spot for snorkelling whys an array of fish and sea urchins, yeah the ones that sting you just got to avoid these haha.

After spending the morning sunbathing and getting in and out of the water you are then drive to a place called monkey island. On the way you drive pass a large rock that is in the shape of a monkeys head, its brilliant.

You reach an island filled after roaming monkeys for dinner, it does bring paradise to life. Just before dinner they take you out for some sweet kayaking in the sea.

After the afternoon in this scenic island you then make your back to where you started on this amazing adventure.

Honestly it is a truly memorable day and you cannot miss this if you are looking what to do in Koh Samui.

Don’t forget to take a camera!
