A Guide To Nightlife On Koh Phi Phi Island, Thailand

The Koh Phi Phi Island has been cultured on the bases of the movie, ‘The Beach’, which makes it a tourist’s, backpacker’s and honeymooner’s ultimate destination. The Koh Phi Phi nightlife is youthful, radiant, zealous and party till the sun comes up is a basic rule of Koh Phi Phi Island. This night party continuous the whole year and each night. Even though Phi Phi Island is small for nightlife, it has developed more attraction points. You won’t have to look far for a Phi Phi party at night on this epic island.

These are the places that you can find some epic Phi Phi island nightlife:

Reggae Bar

The Reggae bar is the most well-known bar located between Tonsai and Loh Dalum on the eastern side of the village. Its main attraction is the Muay Thai Boxing at the bar where each night pro fighting shows are held where the drunk audience have invited the ring to fight in exchange to drinks. The bar also offers prizes to winners, a large TV screen showing sports and a variety of cocktails. It opens at 5 pm and closes by sunrise.

The reggae bar is one of the coolest places for Phi Phi nightlife. If you are into reggae music, you will love it here.

Sun Flower Beach Bar & Restaurant

If you are looking towards escaping a noisy day and spending a nice and relaxing evening of the Phi Phi island nightlife. Then Sun Flower Beach Bar is just the place for it. It is situated on the northern end side of the Loh Dalum Bay.

You can lay back using hammocks, mats and sales of bamboos and it is also a great spot of viewing the sunset. It is also a restaurant with a variety of curries and western and Thai dishes. It also exhibits a fire show after the sunset. It opens by 11:00 to 2:00.

Carlito’s Beach Bar & Nightclub

It is the most popular spot for a beachfront nightclub. It is located on the eastern side of the Tonsai Bay. It is the most frequently visited nightclub since there are hotels near it. Its main attraction is that you can learn and do the ‘Fire Poi Dancing’, it involves swinging with a chair around a person to make a beautiful fire show.

The dance is practised at day without fire and done by the night when you are ready. The beach also offers yoga sessions. You can use free Wi-Fi here. It also offers the famous ‘Buckets’, these buckets include small or medium alcohol and energy drinks. It opens by 11:00 to 2:00. A cool place for a Phi Phi island party

Slinky Beach Bar

It is the most famous outdoor nightclub on Phi Phi. It is located right on the Loh Dalum beach. If you are a party animal, this the perfect bar for you. It is an open-air dance club. It offers live performances and it demonstrates fire shows like; fire skipping and fire limbo.

You can also hop on the challenge of mechanical bull and can enjoy body and face painting. It has a variety of cocktails and also offers the ‘Buckets’. The food is not included in the menu but you can grab dinner from nearby hotels and food outlets.

The sweetest thing is that it offers free cocktails to get the party started, happy daysssss. The bar is made up of wood and bamboo and the floor is pure sand, although it does not have a bathroom, there are public bathrooms nearby which can be used by giving a small fee. It opens at 4 pm.

Ibiza Beach Club

This beach is most famous among the night owls. It is located on Loh Dalum beach, this is a kind of club where the floor is completely made up of sand. It has a great view of the Phi Phi sunset. This club opens all night long.

So you can do the Phi Phi party nightlife until the sunrise, good luck with the hangover! It also has pool parties and fire shows. Cocktails and drinks are very price effective.

Banana Roof Top Bar

The Banana rooftop bar is the oldest and unique in its kind bar. It was established in 2008. It is located in the centre of Tonsai village. It is on the roof of Sombrero Mexican Restaurant; the bar can be accessed by a staircase.

You can view all of the Loh Dalum from the rooftop. You can also get a great view of sunset and sunrise.

You can lay back in bamboo salas and with provided mats and cushions. The Phi Phi bar also conducts hula hoop contest in the evening, it also shows different fire shows. All cocktails are available at 120 bahts and they are also serving beers. It opens at 4 pm.

Stockholm Syndrome

It is located at the corner of Tonsai village near the Phi Phi Reggae Bar. It has a two storeys building. All the fun happens on the ground floor like; beer pong, pool tables, small dance floor. This Phi Phi nightspot also conducts funnel drinking competitions. The dance floor is highlighted and illuminated by laser and disco lights. The upper storey consists of sofas and it is less noisy. It opens at 4 pm.

Apache Beach Bar

It is the second biggest open-air club in Koh Phi Phi Island. It is located in central Loh Dalum. The Phi Phi beach bar is open all night. The combination of wooden floor and comfortable plastic chair on the beach gives a colossal look of the bar. The fire dancers demonstrate their performances. It also offers the ‘Buckets’. What makes this beach the most hyped is that it also hosts Apache Beach House for rental use. It opens at 5 pm.

Hippies Bar

This bar was made in the ’90s and it was destroyed by the Phi Phi tsunami in 2004 and reopened in 2011, it is famous because it is right on the beach at the Phi Phi Villa Resort on the rooftop and it is the cheapest of all bars. It is cheap because the bar is made up of driftwood and it has beautiful low tables and it is surrounded by mats and cushions and most of the things are made from recycled material that is why is mostly loved by environmentalists.

It shows live broadcasting of live sports events on the large TV screen and it has a pool table room. It the best place to hang out after a long day at the kayaking or snorkelling on Phi Phi, which is some of the best things to do on Phi Phi on your visit. It serves international cuisines and Thai food at very affordable prices. It has a very vast variety of cocktails. It also shows fire shows, DJ’s and live performances after 8 pm.

Dubliner Irish Pub

There is an Irish pub wherever you go in the world, right? Course there is and here is another. It is located in the central of Tonsai village. It is famous for in-house DJs and lives Irish music. It has a very unique bar, people can sit facing each other while drinking cocktails and a wide variety of beers. In the pub, you can dance, go to the second storey and watch people get drunk and get wild. It celebrates the best Full Moon parties and also shows sports on big TV screens. It also has a pool table room. This pub is one of kind and that makes it a little expensive. It opens at 10 pm.

Captain Bob’s Booze Cruise

If you want to view the sunset on a cruise, then this is the best cruise you will ever try. Although to view the sunset you need to get on the cruise by 1 pm and the cruise ends by 7 pm and gets you back on the shore by 10 pm. An alternative to the nightlife on Phi Phi. The cruise also offers the famous Maya beach from the ‘The Beach’ movie view and a little stay, monkey beach, Diaper Lagoon, Loh Samah Bay stop, guided snorkelling and stand-up paddling boarding, lunch and fruits snacks. You can buy drinks and beers. You can either book the trip online at Phi Phi booze cruise or visit the office in Koh Phi Phi Island.

Not a bar, but a great place to see the sunset on Phi Phi;

Phi Phi View Point

It is situated between the north of Dalum Bay and south of Tonsai Bay. You can hike there to get the best sunset and sunrise. It is covered with mountains and dense jungle. You can view the divided sand side by side of two bays. It takes only 20 to 40 minutes of the hike. There is a small shop located there where you can buy snacks and drinks. The hike is elevated to 186 meters. The best time to visit the viewpoint by lunchtime and stay there by night.
