Goa Rang Reng Waterfall is a hidden gem in the hills of Bali. The waterfall is situated between gorgeous rice terraces, about four kilometers from the village center. A leisurely ten-minute walk from the parking area to the falls, visitors can bathe in the large pool of cool water at the base of the waterfall. This is a local spot that’s especially loved by local women come to do spiritual cleansing.

It’s almost free but I guess they have to charge a small fee. You will have to pay just 5 Indonesian Rupee per person upon entry.

Where is the Rang Reng located?

While most people come to Ubud Bali to see temples and beautiful scenery, I have always been interested in visiting the Rang Reng waterfall. Recently a friend of mine informed me that it was located at the Rangkiang Kanginan Village which is located near Seminyak, approximately 17 km from UBUD to the North. I went there not knowing what or how much I would be able to imagine the waterfalls but after taking a hike through the jungle for ten minutes with humid and hot weather, I arrived at a place named “Migrogas” where three large waterfalls were beautifully flowing waters.

How to get to the Rang Reng waterfall Ubud Bali?

Getting to Rang Reng is an adventure in and of itself, but the journey will be worth it;

  • As soon as you arrive you’ll know why the Balinese call this place “The Hidden Paradise”
  • It’s 10 km east of Ubud
  • I recommend driving or catching a local bus from Ubud (it takes about 1 hour
  • Once you’ve arrived, here’s how to get to the falls: The trek down to the base takes approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on your fitness level.
