The epic Ebor Falls and why you need to visit them!

Ebor Falls NSW on the Guy Fawkes River

On our East coast road trip we decided to check out the Ebor Falls NSW. If you enjoy stunning natural scenery then you will love this epic waterfall. Located near Coffs Harbour and Woolgoolga, this natural waterfall is a popular attraction amongst tourists. You will have to come to inland Australia a little to find the bottom of the falls on Guy Fawkes River. Once you arrive here it’s a great place to relax and cool down. Also, you can take some epic photography of the Ebor NSW Falls.

There are lots of things to do in the region of New South Wales. One of my favourite things to see is Nambucca Heads. After you visit the Falls, you should definitely explore this awesome area.

How to get to Ebor Falls?

There are a few roads that lead to the location of the falls. It’s a stunning drive and you will have plenty of chances to take some awesome photos of the Australian outback.

Okay, if you’re travelling from Wollomombi falls, you will have to drive up Grafton Road which leads to Waterfall Way. Then you should follow Ebor Road.

How long does it take to get from Wollomombi to Ebor?

In a car, it will take you roughly 30-35-minutes. But it’s a nice scenic drive.

The other route is driving from Dorrigo to Ebor in which you will have to follow the Deer Vale Road (B78). This leads straight to the waterfall and it’s an easy route to follow.

When you arrive at the Ebor car park you should head to the location – Ebor Falls Lookout. From here you will make your way the outside of the smaller falls. Here you will definitely be able to take some awesome photography of the valley, the views are incredible!

If you want, you can follower river down into Ebor and then return back to the car park in which you first set off from.

If you’re staying at the Ebor hotel near the falls, you can do the opposite route and walk up the river to the falls. If you’re staying at the hotel then this would be a cool option.

If you enjoy amazing waterfalls, you will love the Purling Brook Falls in Springbrook National Park. Also, you need to see the three sisters in the Blue Mountains.

You also will want to see the amazing Wentworth Falls on your travels.

Camping at Ebor

If you want to spend the night staying, you can choose to camp at Ebor. Don’t expect a luxurious campsite, however, it’s an awesome place to stay when you have been visiting the Ebor Falls Lookout.

Also, you may not fancy the drive from Ebor to Wollomombi or Ebor to Dorrigo if it starts getting late on in the day. You can camp over for the night and make your journey early the next morning. Plus everyone loves camping!

You will find a free campsite in Ebor ($0) that comes very basic with just a field for you to stay at. But. this does come with 2 toilets so you have that luxury!

If you’re choosing to camp, make sure to check out the Ebor Waterfall Weather to make sure you can make the most of your trip here.

Also, I heard there was an Ebor golf club but I didn’t get to see that.

Check out the Vango Banshee 200 tent.

Ebor Falls Frozen

You may have heard about the falls being frozen which as you can imagine is a pretty awesome scene. Any waterfall that’s frozen is super cool!

I don’t think there are many times you will have the chance to catch the waterfall frozen. I didn’t manage to see it!

It would be awesome to get some photos though if you manage to see the frozen Ebor Waterfall in the near future.

Ebor Falls to Coffs Harbour

If you want to make the drive from Ebor Falls Coffs Harbour, then you will have at embarking on a journey that will take around 1-hour 45-minutes. This drive will take you to the coast of New South Wales.

If you’re going to do this drive, then I would give yourself plenty of time, you don’t want to be setting off too late in the day.

Remember to take snacks and drinks (water) on the drive to Coffs Harbour!

When you arrive, there are some cool things to do in Coffs Harbour. Let’s take a look;

Where to stay in Ebor?

If you don’t fancy the campsites in Ebor, you can choose to stay in a motel.

The Ebor Falls Motel is probably your best option. I never stayed here but I heard it was okay and the best for location. Like I mentioned the hotel is located down the river from the falls.

The hotel has clean rooms, sells decent food and you can also grab a cold beer here. So, you can enjoy the falls, have a beer and then get your head down for the night, winner!

Final Thoughts

There are some really awesome waterfalls in Australia and this is one of them. If you’re near Coffs Harbour or Wollomombi then you should make the effort to visit Ebor.

Have you thought about doing the amazing Sydney to Melbourne drive?
